Company History

The history of FRANKE Elektrotechnik began more than 65 years ago, as to 20.02.1947 the electrical and radio frequency (RF) engineer Alfred Franke this family business founded in Halle/Saale, GERMANY.

After initial problems the social structure conditions of these days, a very fast and successful development began.
During these years, we came up with numerous trend-setting research results which later became standards in capacitor technology.
The product spectrum consisted of the most different capacitors for various applications and special targeted applications.
It ware power capacitors for power factor correction for low- and medium voltage as well as electrolytic capacitors, furnace capacitors, memory- and pulse capacitors for flashlight, x-ray units and multitude other capacitors for special applications.

Were already 1949 developed a new procedure independently, which served for it double calendered capacitor paper with vacuum metallization because very thin conducting layers carrier material to received. This new procedure became by an appraisal of the national testing institute for electro-technology tested and positively granted.

With the further development of the industry requirmements of power factor capacitors much more. Thus power capacitors became an emphasis of production. In addition come automatic power-factor correction units. The moreover one is components like choke, power factor controller, active filter as well as measuring- control and automation technology.

Starting from the 90's the rising Asian markets stood in the focus of the operational development . Thus new manufacturing plants developed around the local markets fast and economically to supply.
